This is a working inventory, not a streaming library. Inclusion means that a historical record documents the production or that a source file has been identified; it does not establish that a recording remains playable, cleared for republication, or fully credited.

Original YouTube collections and production credit

Original productions. I created the videos preserved on the two YouTube channels below. That production credit is separate from the expertise and contributions of narrators, students, faculty, research teams, and community participants, whose individual roles will be documented at the recording level.

  • Preservation Network — youtube.com/@preservationnetwork. Historic NPN correspondence independently cites the older youtube.com/preservationnetwork channel address in 2009. The October 9, 2026 public inventory identifies 17 accessible uploads on this channel.
  • Natchitoches Historic — youtube.com/@natchitocheshistoric. Supplied and attributed by producer. The October 9, 2026 public inventory identifies three accessible uploads on this channel; a possible alternate Steel Magnolias edit across the channels remains unresolved.

Catalog method: Keep one record per unique production or release, with channel, stable video URL/ID, YouTube title, upload date, date recorded (if known), format, subject, narrators, researchers, production roles, project relationship, source media, rights/permissions, and recovery status. An upload does not automatically prove original production date, and an alternate channel upload is not necessarily a second production.

Access note: The 20 public uploads below come from the October 9, 2026 channel inventory; additional historical production titles lower on this page derive from archival evidence and may not be playable. A channel snapshot is not a full lifetime production catalog.

Catalog limits: A playlist contains one inaccessible video, and the 2008 NPN year-in-review describes more original site films than are visible in today’s public listings. Two Steel Magnolias videos may be alternate uploads of the same production; this has not been verified. YouTube upload dates are not filming dates.

How the record is organized

  • Place-based films and This Place Matters are one part of the original audiovisual practice, not the umbrella for every production.
  • Each entry records the documentary category, named participants where documented, contemporary source, and the outstanding recovery question.
  • A collection or series may overlap an individual episode; counts below must not be added to represent total unique productions.
  • Original media should be preserved as a source object; edited releases, later copies, and interpretive articles receive distinct records.
